Who We Are

We are an independent, locally-owned and operated audiology practice located near downtown Suffolk, VA. Our licensed and nationally certified audiologist is dedicated to providing professional hearing healthcare services with a personal touch to the residents of the greater Suffolk area. In addition to comprehensive diagnostic testing for hearing and balance disorders, our Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) specializes in hearing aid services utilizing the latest innovations in hearing healthcare technology.

Carrie Knox, Au.D., CCC-A

Doctor of Audiology

Owner and audiologist Carrie Knox, Au.D., CCC-A earned a Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) degree from James Madison University in 2009, following a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in English and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Communication Sciences & Disorders, also from James Madison University. After graduate school, Dr. Knox joined Ear, Nose, & Throat Associates of Tidewater, where she provided audiology services for Dr. John Lyle and Dr. Eugenia Gray for close to five years. Following Dr. Lyle's retirement, she launched Knox Audiology & Hearing Care in 2014 to continue to provide compassionate audiology and hearing aid services for the Suffolk area. Patients rely on Dr. Knox's warm approach to patient interaction, with one-on-one attention to hearing needs and concerns. Dr. Knox is certified by the American Speech, Language & Hearing Association and is licensed as both a Hearing Aid Specialist and Audiologist in Virginia. She lives in Northern Suffolk with her husband, a Suffolk native, their young daughter, and their two Boston Terriers, Gizmo and Zelda. Did you know Dr. Knox is also a mystery author? Lora Biddle, H.A.S.

Audiology Assistant/Hearing Aid Specialist

Lora Biddle earned a Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences & Disorders from James Madison University in 2017. She became interested in Audiology at a young age after it was discovered she was born deaf in her right ear. She was diagnosed at age 2, and has since developed mild hearing loss in her left ear. Her experiences in dealing with hearing loss and amplification throughout her life led her to a passion for hearing care, particularly in assisting patients in their hearing treatment journey. She enjoys helping others hear, repairing hearing aids, and understands the impact a hearing aid can have on those with hearing loss. She is now a licensed Hearing Aid Specialist in Virginia. Her focus is on assisting with all parts of the hearing care journey, with expertise in care and maintenance. Lora and her husband are both from the small town of Crewe, Virginia and the newlywed couple now live in Chesapeake with their rescue dog, Ammo.
